How do I use SATWhiz?
The following is our recommended step-by-step approach to take this SAT learning course
.Before you take your first test, ensure you have good understanding of the English and math programs of your high school
.When solving problems from your text book, if you are unsure about your answers, try our Solve 'n Check – for math problems, or Word Power ndash; for meanings of difficult words. Also, try our Question of the Week as a fun learning tool.
.The course consists of seven tests and up to three custom quizzes. Set a schedule for these tests based on when you plan to take your SAT assessment. Select the "Answer Display" type for each test. Immediate is for learners, displaying the answer as soon as you respond showing you where you went wrong, if you did. You can also look up the math concepts involved in the question before choosing your answer. As you find you are making fewer mistakes, choose the second option Intermediate. It is meant for the intermediate user and allows you to review the answers after completing each section. This will also help you gain a sense of the time allowed for each section. As you gain confidence choose the third option, Advanced, to give yourself the real-test experience. Answers can be reviewed at the end of the full test. Setting the dates for each test will allow SATWhiz to remind you of your test dates as you log in as well as by email. To let SATWhiz set the test dates and test types automatically, enter your planned SAT date and choose "Automatic".
.Take the first test. Don't be overly concerned about the time limits; concentrate on understanding the questions.
.Are your results good? What does Whiz-tracker say? See the explanatory notes for the wrong as well as the right answers and study where you went wrong. Have you understood the reasoning? If you are still uncertain, email us your questions; you will receive a reply within two business days.
.Go through our tips and tricks on how to eliminate the wrong answers and how to guess.
.Check your performance chart in WhizTracker after each test. Does WhizTracker say that your performance is low in certain key areas? If WhizTracker suggests a custom test to sharpen your weaker areas, take it.
.Is your performance still not up to the mark or are you still uncertain of certain concepts? Schedule a one-on-one Whizboard session. This is a live, half-hour, text-and-whiteboard session with our subject experts.
